SCIENCE FROSH 2011 PLANNING COMMITTEE

Major: 4th Year Biochemistry
Role: As the SUS VP External, I chair the Frosh 2011 planning committee with Nelson, oversee the progress of all committee members, and prepare the proposal to be approved by our Associate Dean, Dr. Harrison. During the process, Nelson and I also provide feedback on the work of all committee members to ensure that you will have the most memorable day of your university career. |
| What theme song would you choose to describe your life? |
| My Life Would Suck Without You, by Kelly Clarkson, because I have made many amazing new friends at UBC and my life would suck without them, and you (if I do get a chance to meet you at Frosh). |
| If you weren’t in Science, what would you do? |
| I’ve always had a profound interest in the performing arts, but never pursued it. If I was given a second chance, I would go to a performing arts school, learn to sing, dance, and act, and become an aspiring Broadway star. |
| What is your favourite place to eat at on campus? |
| I love food, so it’s hard for me to pick a place. One tip that I can give you is, if you are ever depressed for whatever reason, treat yourself to a “Marbelous” cookie from Blue Chips. I guarantee that you will be in a much happier mood after. |
| What is your favourite chemical species? |
| Histidine, because it is one of the few amino acids with an overall positive charge, representing my upbeat and optimistic personality, not to mention that it also has an aromatic ring, making it quite aesthetically pleasing compared to the others. |
| What is your favourite retro game? |
The original Super Mario Bros. except I was never able to beat the game because I couldn’t save it on my Gameboy. |
| If you were a Pokémon, which one would you be? |
Ninetales, because it is the classiest-looking Pokemon. |

Role: This is my fourth (and last) time being a part of Science Frosh and I'm happy to be this year's Human Resources Manager. As the Human Resources Manager, I am involved with the volunteers that help with the event, which includes the volunteer training sessions and troubleshooting on the day of. |
